ZGARDA (UA)

ZGARDA is a Kyiv folk band that works with authentic Ukrainian songs and reinterprets them in a modern live sound. We combine roots, rhythm, and stage energy – and call it “moving folk”. We play exclusively on live instruments: bandura, sopilka, violin, double bass, percussion.

Formed in 2018 and led by vocalist Yuliia Vitraniuk, the band brings together ritual and lyrical songs in powerful live arrangements that highlight both the emotional depth and rhythmic drive of Ukrainian tradition. Their debut album “Зґарда” (2025) presents a collection of songs rooted in heritage, reimagined for contemporary audiences while preserving their original spirit.
