POINT OF FEW (CZ)

 

Point of Few is a new Czech instrumental quartet, organically blending modern jazz with elements from contemporary popular music. Point’s music is colorful and adventurous, always with catching melodies, energic, modern beats and unique sound. They collaborated on their debut album Open to Closeness (2022, Bivak Records) with the great keyboard player and producer Jason Lindner.

The project has been put together in the Spring 2019 by its guitarist Radim Přidal, who teamed with saxophonist Petr Smékal, former classmate from studies at Janáček Academy of Music in Brno, CZ. In drummer Marek Antoňů and bassist Vlastimil Škoda (both alumnis of Jaroslav Ježek’s Conservatory in Prague) they found not only a very strong rhythm section, but also musical and personal soulmates and highly original individualities.
